• not with that mount but sanus has other mounts that would fit your tv

• Yes, I use this for a 55" screen so 42" will be fine. However, they make several models. Ask for the one designed for the size screen you want to mount. You can certainly over-engineer and get a bigger one, but there is a cost to going bigger.
