  • QuestionWill this work on an LGV30 Android Phone?

    Asked by Wildman57.

    • Answer As long as the phone has a stereo 3.5mm female mic. input jack, it should work. I use it with a 6 foot female to male patch cord plugged into the Mic. jack on my desktop PC. It works fine.

  • QuestionWill this work on a PS4 controller

    Asked by Daisy.

    • Answer No, not without a 3.5mm TRRS Splitter. I would not recommend it unless you already have a proper splitter. Startech makes one, called the StarTech Headset Adapter, Microphone and Headphone Splitter

  • QuestionIs it a TRS mic compatible with the UGREEN external soundcard?

    Asked by Curiouser.

    • Answer I cannot find the information in the spec from UGREEN, but I did find this quote from UGREEN support: "Sorry that this item cannot power mic." So will have to say no, but I would contact UGREEN support and ask them if the sound card features "plug-in power" to microphones.

  • QuestionWill the mic work on an older iPad into the Headphone jack for live-streaming sound in Facebook live

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer There are two versions of the Saramonic microphone that look very similar. This one is designed for an iPad's headphone jack: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/saramonic-smartmic-condenser-microphone/6124844.p?skuId=6124844 Saramonic - SmartMic Condenser Microphone Model:SMARTMIC SKU:6124844 The difference is in the connection. The SmartMic has a TRRS tip (notice 3 black bands) while the the other one only has TRS (2 black bands). You can usually get a TRS plug to work in an iPad but the TRRS won't work if you plug it into a dedicated microphone input (like on a digital camera or audio recording device). TRRS allows for your headphones with a built in microphone to send data back and forth on devices with an audio port (both mic and headphone in one jack). So, if you only plan on using the microphone with your iPad, and not a digital camera or device with a mic only input, then the microphone I mention above is your best bet. If you want something that could be used on an iPad and a camera, the non"Smart" version should work on both types (I tested it with my iPad). If you get the TRRS "smart" version and eventually want to use it with another device with a mic only input, you would need to get a TRRS to TRS converter. If you search YouTube for TRRS and TRS, you'll find many videos describing the differences.

    Asked by Tippy.

    • Answer No, this will not work. You should get the Saramonic SmartMic https://www.bestbuy.com/site/saramonic-smartmic-cardioid-condenser-microphone/6124844.p?skuId=6124844 That will plug into the Lightning headphone adapter and it will work great.
