DPaige has it correct. Use an external USB-C power adapter for best results. This will allow you to use the USB-C port(s) on your PC (especially important if data in/out is needed), won't drain your battery, and deliver the maximum amount of power for the other devices you connect.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The power source is coming from the computer. It’s so convenient you don’t have to look for AC.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is powered by the laptop. It is fine for most people and it worked for me for a while, but I recently switched to a different device that has a built in processor that’s powered by an AC adapter which allows me to run two external 4K monitors simultaneously without any issues. This model however is great for “on the go” use when you want to use a DVD player, and you need an extra USB output. I still use it for traveling and it’s made very well. It matches my space gray MacBook Pro 13’ 2022 M2 processor that I purchased from BestBuy as I needed to upgrade my old MacBook Pro and this fit my budget at the time. I generally only purchase Apple devices directly from Apple to avoid any issues with authenticity and it was on sale and much cheaper than any other store or online source including Apple.. It is a great piece of hardware for the average user and those who are traveling or using their MacBook Pro on the go. It’s small and lightweight. This fits into my bag made for the 13’ MacBook Pro along with my other accessories that I often use away from the house. There are better multiport adapters out there, but they are not cheap either. This is a good one for the average user who needs more than one extra USB C connection and is only using one monitor or needs a Ethernet connection. That’s something that a lot of these adapters don’t have and I don’t regret buying mine.
