I haven't experienced this myself but I have a feeling it would. I have all kids of sosche mounts because I frequently rent cars, and since Toyota can't get their act together with Android auto and each car is different it's hard to chose one that fits the best. I have a non magnetic one from Scosche that I just pinch closed enough to slide it in and out. Works pretty well that way.
