“If I need more space can I store content on a Windows 10 box to increase storage? If after I use it for a year and the $35 hard drive storage contract is over, how does the unit function. Will it still show live TV, can I see future schedules?”

Yes. If you are using a SCRIBE DUO, you have a full DVR subscription, which means you can add your own DIY storage on a Windows PC or Mac or whatever. If your DVR service ends, you will still have access to live TV and all your existing recordings. Your guide will no longer show a full 2 weeks of data, but it will still show you today's info.
