QuestionWe have an older device that uses an external hard drive to record OTA programs. Frequently the audio is out of sync with the video when playing back recorded programs. Is this a problem with this device?

- Answer The HDHomeRun SCRIBE definitely won't be the cause of any sync issues. With that said, it's possible that your current drive setup isn't the cause of the sync issues. If you haven't already, please try contacting [email protected] with details of your sync issues. It's important to make sure that the cause isn't something like a bad video decoder on whatever device you are using for playback.

QuestionWhat does this device use my Internet connection for? I have metered Internet and don't want something that uses the Internet connection to record. Is the Internet connection just for the guide? Is Wifi used to stream to the viewing device (TV)?

QuestionAfter content has been recorded, can it easily be deleted? I don't want to store content for a long time, just want to watch shows once if I'm not home to watch when they air.

- Answer Yes, definitely. There's a little trash can icon near every item. Just click it and it will be deleted.

- Answer Yes. You can use your two tuners however you like, including recording two stations at once. If you would like to do 3 things at once, you will need a second device, perhaps an HDHomeRun CONNECT or similar.

- Answer To repeat: The HDHomeRun SCRIBE can only record content from an over the air antenna. It cannot record content from your Roku. All your Roku can do is play back the video that was recorded by the HDHomeRun SCRIBE.

- Answer Once you've plugged in the device, install the HDHomeRun app, then use it like any DVR. Find upcoming shows and schedule recordings, either on an episode by episode basis, or you can choose to record all the episodes, or just the new episodes from the current season. - Answer It’s required to record anything unless you use it with Plex like I do which is free if you’re a Plex pass member.

- Answer The HDHomeRun SCRIBE can only tune and record content from an over the air antenna. There is a HDHomeRun channel for Roku that let's you watch Over the Air TV on it as well as recordings, though it is currently in beta and does not support scheduling recordings yet. You'll need any of our other supported DVR devices for scheduling: https://www.silicondust.com/live-tv/#devices

- Answer Moving content should not be necessary. Because HDHomeRun supports unlimited DVR Engines, if you start to fill up your Scribe, you can chose to start up another DVR engine on your PC or NAS for more storage. Or you can get another SCRIBE or a SERVIO.
