Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will work. HP, Dell, and Gateway will always tell you differently cause they are after your Money. The "ID" is in your Device Manager and All Computers have that. A Hard Drive is a Hard Drive which you simply connect power and the SATA connector. Once connected just Format and install your OS.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any HDD will work and if the computer fails down the road and needs to be sent in for repair, simply swap your new hdd with the one that failed and they will be none the wiser.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A desktop SATA drive can replace ANY desktop SATA drive. Don't let anyone blow smoke up on you saying that their product only uses a particular type of drive. For laptops, the 1TB drives are thicker than the 500GB so if you have a slim laptop (macbook pro for ex) you may want to make sure that the thickness of the HD will let you screw the cover back on. Green drives SUCK! They should never be used as primary system drives on ANY machine. If you can afford the BLACK, great. If not, a Blue or the Seagate Barracuda would be fine. Good luck!
