The USB 3.0 is the computer interface and has nothing to do with rotational speed. On the websites for the places that sell the drive you will find a section on specifications. Best Buy's web site, for example, shows the rotational speed on the specifications page at 5900 RPM. Many drives spin at 7200 RPM, but with a USB interface, the rotational speed is not as important as on an internal drive using an SATA interface.
