• According to HP there are 128 models in the series. That said, it looks like the vintage will be a problem with this drive & mother board. That would be my reaction. • Yes. This will work as either a replacement or as a slave. From what I found online, you have 4 SATA ports. Connect this to one of the available ports, turn the computer on and it will be ready to use. Windows will install a driver for it.

• I have an HPE-257c. The drive is compatible with that. I'm pretty sure it will be compatible with your machine if you have SATA drives. Seagate Disk Utilities help a lot with installation.
