Yes, these have 5 year warranties. Any Seagate internal hard drive sent to the retailer since June 1 have a much reduced warranty. If you value a 5 year warranty you should buy from Best Buy's current stock. Read the box as soon as you get it. The warranty is printed there and a warranty card in in the manual.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Both Seagate and WD routinely change warranty lengths on drives, I have been to Best Buy and seen the identical model of disk drive for sale on the shelf with some marked as 3 year warranty and some marked as 2 year warranty. Quite often Best Buy will advertise 5 year manufactures warranty on drives but when you show up to buy the drive is marked 3 year or 2 year warranty. What seems to be the trick is that when the manufactures come out with a brand new drive model that is high priced they release it as 5 year warranty then a few years after the drive has been in production the 5 year warranty vanishes to be replaced by a 3 year warranty. Then a few years later it becomes 2 year warranty. If you run a SMART utility and make sure the drives run cool then they will last many many years beyond the warranty. Ad extra fans if needed to the case the drives are in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The second time I ordered these the shipped drives had a different part number and were 1 year drives. 1st Shipment PN: 9JB1N3-574 (5 Year) 7/2012 2nd Shipment PN: 9JB1N3-574 (1 Year) 8/2012
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to the person behind the BB Customer Service counter and the BB stated specifications, yes, BB will cover this as a 5 year warranty. However, Seagate as a matter of corporate policy will only cover it as a 1 year warranty. Do a Google search for the terms: seagate warranty reduction and become enlightened. J
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it is only a 1 year warranty according to Best Buy's website.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Description only shows as a 1 year warranty.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this is a one-year warranty like the rest. Bought one, came as one-year, not five, returned it for that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These are ALL the 1-year warranty drives, NOT the 5-year. If you order one, look at the top of the box in the store and refuse it if it says 1-year. The website still states 5-year warranty, but I just received one that the site said was 5-years and the box says 1-year. Do NOT trust your data to a drive the mfg will only warranty for a year. RUN!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Its likely best buy has gone through most of its 5 year stock. and really should update the listing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Please verify with Best Buy the warranty period on the drive before purchasing. It may help to provide Best Buy with the SKU number listed on the website for the drive.
