Some storage is always used for other needs by this kinda of tech. There is no memory card on the planet that doesn't dedicate a part of it to the operation of the tech. This can be understood with a quick google search. Just like everything sold in this world they round up or give you max specs/ averages with a disclaimer that actual size depends on factors they don't really talk about. There are different levels of quality that affects the tech as well so they use a general umbrella to advertise specs. Its expensive because of what is is. Normal memory cards and drives don't have the performance of this device. You get what you pay for.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You'll have this with any card you buy. There is always some programming saved onto the card to make it work with the device. At least you'll have 1.8 TB left to use instead of buying a smaller card and having the same amount gone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Part of it is "rounding" as 2tb = 2048gb. the 1.8tb usable is like 2-300mb used as a directory of stored information with the rest reserved to replace bad sections or sections that fail from wear/tear or other sources of damage.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because its for the system to start it up, any storage would do the same
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Every external / internal storage needs a reserve space of storage for itself to use, that’s why when you buy a new console it’s never the exact amount of storage it’s slightly under the limit cause the storage unit its self requires a little space to operate
