• Spend the extra money (around $139) and purchase a Crucial 500Gb SSD. You'll thank yourself when your boot times drop below 10 seconds and your applications POP on the screen. At this point spinning discs should only be used for storing data not as your primary drive.

• I did exactly what you want to do using this very drive. I had no problems what so ever and HD works great. Go for it !! Be sure that your Win 7 is a clean install (no upgrades).
