• As long as you have Serial ATA....which I presume you do if you are even thinking of installed Windows 8. It is SATA III, but will run at SATA II speeds if that's all your controller supports.

• Yes, but if you are using 64bit software, I would get a larger drive. 1TB and at least 32mb of cache. It is not much more.
