- Answer yes. you MIGHT have to format (erase) it using disk utility. but once you do that. it will be great. (i do that with any new external drive anyway). when erasing, choose: - osx journaled if you only plan to use it with macs - exfat if you plan to use it with both mac and windows

- Answer Depends on the backup software you use. Best to go into device mgr and assign a letter to each drive

- Answer It blinks because the computer is still running power to it, if you want it to be recognized as a drive try to reformat it. If you don’t know how to do that then lookup a YouTube tutorial.

- Answer Not sure what you saying, You got a 2TB hard drive and you want back it up with a 1TB hard drive...uh..yeah you can, except you can only save about 1/2 of it, so your gonna have to buy another 1TB hard drive to save everything from your 2TB hard drive. Makes sense to me, at least
