• As long as you have a connection available on the Play Station. This one is USB 3.0 but backwards compatible with USB 2.0 also.

• I haven't used it for that purpose myself but it should work. The requirements listed by the official PS support page are USB 3.0 or later and 250 GB minimum, 8 TB maximum capacity.
