“My question is, can someone explain the directions to how I upload my pics off my computer to this external hard drive? I am using windows 10 if that helps. Also my pics are downloaded in windows live gallery.”

You should be able to use File Explorer or navigate through My Computer to locate the external drive, then just drag and drop the files that you want to the folder that you would like.
