I have seen online guides for upgrading the PS4 HD drive and the instructions are to back up your game data to an external drive via single USB port on the PS4. Make sure that you have a large enough capacity external drive to accommodate the space used on the current drive (could be as high as 500GB).

Yes you can either use a small usb, or external usb hard drive to transfer all games and updates if not you have to update all the games from the beginning

Yes you can transfer your game data from your old hard drive to the new one. Simply google how to transfer (console name here) data to new drive. I know for sure PlayStations website gives very good instructions on how to do so.
