Is this compatible with the series x? null

Yes and no. It can be plugged into your Series S|X and will be recognized. You can choose to format it either for storing game content or for storing capture content (screenshots/videos) but it will not do both at the same time (like the internal hard drive). You can store older Xbox games (original, 360, and One) and play them from the drive. HOWEVER, you can only STORE Series S|X games on this drive; you cannot PLAY Series S|X games from this drive. So, it is technically compatible, but does not have all the same functions as the internal hard drive.
