The remote access is being disabled by Seagate in April 2018 based on an email sent out. To access the device the computer has to be on the same network.

There is multiple USER option that you are in charge of as an Administrator. WARNING! make sure to jot down your ADMIN password somewhere safe. If you lose it then you'll need to restore the drive to factory with NO option to save your files.
