“Does this drive require the use of its own software to run a back up? Am I able to use the Windows 7 back-up that's "built" into Windows or another back-up program of my choice instead of using the Seagate back-up software that's supplied with this drive?”

• Yes you can use other caind. I'm using the back up program that came with my Alienware laptop

• You should be able to choose any backup software you wish. I have used several.

• No, it does not require the use of its own program. I did not like BackUp MyPC because it kept popping up and asking for money.
