There is a controller attached to the strip itself, but there is no stand alone remote, unless you count your phone which works as a remote to control the strip through the Sengled or Alexa app.

No. It has attached button to run on/off and switch modes. This is Z-Wave strip so you can operate with smartphone. You do need compatible HUB
