Yes, you can cut it. About every 25 cm, or 9.8 in

Please try again later.I answered this earlier in another question but to do this you would need to cut the strips then make the interconnect with a soldering iron and wire. I am good with electronics repair and could easily make your situation work. I would consider this to be a moderate skill level job. But to answer your question, yes you could do this.
