Great question! I believe that's the purpose but I haven't tried the app controls outside of my wireless network yet. Hopefully someone can comment to clarify. If I remember correctly from my setup process, a profile with SengLed is created, your hub/bulbs/etc are registered with your account/profile, install the app on your portable device (mobile, laptop, tablet etc.), login to the app and then I'm thinking that should then all be connected over the internet for control wherever you have online access. Another thought I just had was also the connectability/control via smart home tech i.e. Amazon Alexa devices, Google Home, Home Connect etc. All of my bulbs and hub are connected via Amazon Alexa account so can control via Echo and Alexa devices around the house. Again this means I should be able to also use the Alexa mobile app or online website to send a control signal to the hub/bulbs.
