• Yes you do need a charger but I don't know if it is sold separately. The headphones also come in a kit that includes the charging base which is needed to connect to your audio source. The kit at Best Buy is SKU 4980900

• NO, a separate charger is not needed. The batteries are charged when the headphones are placed on the transmitter/charging cradle.
