“Can I use these just as a noise cancelling device? No music, TV, movies? Will they work, with a snoring partner for example?”

They cut down on the sound, but aren't going to eliminate it, plus can't imagine sleeping in them, even though they are extremely comfortable. If you aren't concerned with comfort and just looking to block sound, recommend visiting a firearms shop and testing out what they've got.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I sometimes use them when traveling on an airplane, and they start canceling noise quite well as soon as they are turned on. They are rather large though, so I don't know how well someone could sleep with them on.
