These buds do not have active noise cancellation, but the do a very good job at blocking exterior sounds. My previous buds had noise cancellation and I was a bit hesitant since these do not have the option, but I am satisfied with their performance in noisy situations. You will hear some outside sounds but they are distant and well isolated and at the higher listening levels all but the loudest sounds will be unnoticeable. I'm thoroughly impressed with the overall performance and highly recommend to listeners who value sound quality over features.

But it is only passive sound cancelling, so in other words, how good the seal is in your ear. I'm sure you will still hear some lawnmower noise since it's quite loud

They do a much better job than the stock silicone that's blocking out background noise. I have not used them with my blower yet, but at the gym the foam tips work much better and while playing music I hear little to no background noise
