To charge the battery inside the handheld vacuum, connect the charger to an electrical outlet, then insert the charger plug into the port below the handle on the handheld vacuum. This Shark can also be charged by placing it on the dock. When charging is complete and you need to use the unit again, lift it off the dock.

Next, press the filter release button and gently remove the HEPA filter. After rinsing and allowing the filter to air-dry completely, slide it back into the hand vacuum.

• A:Answer You can’t charge a spare battery by itself. The PowerDetect battery pack only receives power when the vacuum is docked into the wall-mounted/desk-stand charger. A loose battery won’t make contact with the charger’s terminals, so it must remain installed in the handheld base to recharge.
