I don't have the specific specs on weight. I believe it's about 5lbs. I have laminate flooring & it glides easily along the floor. I also have a few area rugs, which is a little harder to go over, but does a great job on both. Love the headlights so I can see in darker corners. Emptying the canister is easy. Switching different utensils is very easy. I can do my house in an hour & takes about the same time to charge. Also, you can keep it plugged in between using without harming the battery. My mother bought the Dyson. I used it in her house. She has the same type of flooring & it weighs a bit more & emptying the canister isn't quite as easy. Other than that they are the same, but the Shark costs less. Hope this helps!
