The boundary strips do not need to be powered. They have magnets that the robot senses and turns around. The connectors allow you to make turns and angles because the boundary strip is semi-thick and will not turn sharply. You cut the strips with scissors or utility knife to length. If need to make turn or square a corner just clip connector to cut end and then cut next length. The connectors have hindge that goes from straight to 90 degrees. For example, we used the boundary strip to “wall” off our dog’s food and water bowles. This keeps the robot from spilling the water. The bowles are on a small rectangle carpet in a corner. We only had to cut one long length from the wall past the Bowles. Clip on a connector to make 90 turn and cut the shorter side of the rectangle to reach the other wall. This made an L to cover the exsposed sides of the Bowles with the two walls on the other sides. We then slid the L under the carpet edge so can’t see it. The robot will then run up on just the carpet edge from the hardwood floor and then stop and turn away. It has never bumped the Bowles.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it keeps your bot from going where you don't want it to. Yes cut it to the length that you need, no need to be powered and the connectors are to make the strips go around say a corner
