- Answer Check the owner's manual. There is a very simple pinch release on both sides of the dust cup. Once the dust cup is off the handle, lift the lever at the end of the dust cup to open the lid. The accumulated dust--there will be a LOT--will then be easy to dump. There is also a filter in the upper handle that collects smaller dust particles. It must be removed and washed in plain water at least once a month; otherwise the vacuum will lose suction.

QuestionDoes it scratch hardwood floors? I have hardwood floormostly and I am worried that it may scratch or damage (from wheel or brush) the floor.

- Answer I have hardwood floors as well and, so far, there has not been any scratches caused by this vacuum.

- Answer Laid flat you have 4.5 inches of clearance for the first 2 feet, then to about 6 as you near the motor due to the angle. Fits easily under standard bed frame.
