A:AnswerHi Lynne,
this may sound basic, but I made this mistake. The unit won't lift off if the cord is wound up around both brackets... the way you're supposed to wind the cord after you're finished vacuuming. Also, I put my foot on the base as I lift up from both the handle and the top of the canister. It should come off that way. Good luck.
A:AnswerHello G,
We would like you to know that the Shark® Rotator® Professional Lift-Away® NV501 Bagless Upright Vacuum does use a belt; however, the Shark Rotator®'s intelligent electronic system will shut off the power nozzle motor to avoid belt wear if the brushroll is blocked by a large object, such as a sock or carpet edge. Simply turn off the power, unplug the vacuum, remove the obstruction, and return to vacuuming, with no belt maintenance or replacement costs to worry about.
We hope this information helps.

A:AnswerHello Sunny,
We are happy to inform you that you can wash the HEPA filter. We recommend washing it once every 12 months. To wash the HEPA filter, rinse it under warm tap water until the water goes through clean. Do not use any soap. Once it is clean, give it a light shake to get rid of any excess water, and then let it air dry for at least 24 hours. We recommend doing the same thing to the pre-motor (foam & felt) filters once every 3 months.
We hope this information helps.

A:AnswerHonestly mine doesn’t. It does not have the suction I think a shark vacuum should have. If you turn on the power mode the brush turns on underneath and then it spits dirt out. If you look above someone else also has this problem. It’s been doing this since the first day I got it. It works amazing on carpet but horrible on hardwoords
A:AnswerNo. If you want a wet/dry vac, get a shop vac. This is a normal indoor vacuum cleaner that is not meant for steam cleaning, vacuuming up liquids, or being hosed off or wet in any way. The filters come out to clean and they must be fully dry before putting them back into the machine.
A:AnswerHi,
This is a good question. This Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away Hepa Bagless 2-in-1 Upright vacuum (model#NV501) is actually an older version of the Shark Rotator Powered
Lift-Away Speed (model#NV681. Although both has pretty similar suction power, the updated version comes with the advanced swivel steering and on-board tools. The accessories are also different in each package. I hope this information was useful. Thanks

A:AnswerWe're truly disappointed to hear that the Shark Rotator vacuum is generating a loud noise. We understand how frustrating it can be to experience this when the roller is turned on. We're available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET.
A:AnswerThank you for your question! The Shark Rotator NV501 does not include the canister caddy in the box. If you’d like, it can be purchased separately as an accessory.
