“When you open an oven door (any oven), the LIGHT should go on. This oven does NOT do that. The light is only on when it is operational. There is no excuse for this oversight. If they got this wrong, who knows what else is screwed up? Buy something else.”

I was bothered by that when I first bought the microwave 2 1/2 years ago, but ended up being glad. The light isn’t needed before heating and you can let the door be open while any steam evaporates without worrying about the light being on.
