A:AnswerThat Sharp answer was hilarious.
What the consumer probably wanted when asking about the 1.2 cu ft capacity, is that the microwave internal cavity is the same size between the 24 and 30 inch models.
I've seen both side-by-side in a store. The only difference is that the 30 inch model has a wider door and filler plate on either side of the microwave to cover the extra 3 inches between the 30 inch cabinet cutout and the 24 inch microwave.
The 30 inch model looks better when stacked with other 30 inch appliances. If on it's own in a cabinet, say in an island, then the 24" model would use less space.
A:AnswerGo online and check their website for the product specs which say exactly what dimensions are needed to install. However I would not recommend this microwave to anyone. Doesn't work properly and died within 13 months of usage.
A:AnswerHello, the unit does have an open/close button on the control panel. Also, if you wish to manually open the unit you can hold both sides of the drawer and pulls it gently towards you.
A:AnswerThis question that was answered regarding the ventilation post about two hours of investigation between calling Best Buy and everything else. You do not need to purchase a ventilation kit with this microwave. It ventilates from the bottom left side of the microwave. It is already built in. Just make sure the bottom isn’t covered and if you see steam coming out the bottom left side that is you’re naturally built in ventilation.
A:AnswerHello Shari, for standard installation if installed correctly, with enough space to ventilate the unit will not damage your cabinet. For flushed installation, you should purchase a deflector vent which should help the unit to ventilate properly. Please be advised that there should be no closed cabinet installed directly beneath the unit. Please have your carpenter or installer view the installation manual for proper installation. A:AnswerI would think you will need to do something to fill extra space. I too had too large of an opening but the depth was not enough. So we added trim board all the way around to get the depth we needed and to fill the vacant space. We were able to match the paint color of our cabinets. I love the drawer!
A:AnswerYes. It is essentially the same unit with a different drawer mechanism and display area as the 30" I purchased. How do I know this? We accidentally got the 24 first and returned it for the 30 since we had the location picked out in the 30-inch cabinet. So, I have seen both at it's really just up to you as to the size you need within your kitchen.
A:AnswerThe controls are on a flip-out panel. It is easy to see while standing up. You do not have to squat down to see them. I do like this feature of this oven.
A:AnswerThanks for your question. The Control panel is hold and closed by magnets. Feel welcome to contact us for any question or concern you might have.
A:AnswerIt should fit that cabinet with ease. Your electrical outlet should be in the rear upper left corner as I recall. You should download the installation instructions from the manufacturer’s web site to see details of the installation requirements.
A:AnswerHello, no there is not a trim kit for our drawer microwaves. The only accessory for the SMD2470ASY is the flush mount deflector vent kit and this is an optional accessory.
A:AnswerHello, the dimensions for the SMD3070AS are 30” x 15 7/8” x 23 1/64” (w x h x d). The drawer unit was meant to be installed below an island, peninsula or standard cabinetry, or can be installed below a wall oven. If you need further assistance you may email us at onlinesupport@sharpsec.com.
