QuestionWhat size cabinet is used for this unit. I was planning on using a 27" base cabinet, but will it work with a 24" cabinet?

- Answer Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to assist you. The Sharp SMD2470ASY is designed specifically for a 24-inch base cabinet, which is the ideal standard size for this unit because its outer faceplate measures exactly 23 7/8 inches wide. While it will technically work inside a 27-inch cabinet, doing so is not recommended as it will leave large gaps on both sides requiring custom woodwork or filler strips to mask. Choosing a standard 24-inch cabinet allows the microwave face to overlap the frame perfectly for a clean, built-in look, provided your cabinet installer creates an internal opening cutout that is 22 1/8 inches wide, 15 9/16 inches high, and at least 23 1/2 inches deep. QuestionWe have the previous version of the Sharp 30" Built-in Microwave Drawer unit Model KB6025MS. Will this newer unit Model #SMD3070ASY fit under the counter? It looks like this unit is a little taller, 15 7/8 Inch versus 15 13/32 Inch.

- Answer After removing the 4 screws the microwave slid out very easy. the new one slid right in with no problems. It fit just as good as the previous one. I was told by a repair man as long as it was a 30" there would be no problem replacing it.

- Answer Hello Steve, a flush mount kit is required when you are flush mounting the unit. If you are doing a regular installation, this is not required.
