Sharp claims 40,000 hours for the LED light. At 8 hours a day, 365 days a year, that's over 13 years. The backlight is usually not user replaceable. You can get it serviced to replace it, but that will usually cost more than the TV. You'll probably want to buy a new TV in 10 years anyway.
