No the light does not come on when opening the door
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased this model 2 wks ago. It is easy to use and quiet. However, I must confirm what the rep said. The light does not come on when the door is open. Only when the unit is operating. A minor inconvenience.

Please try again later.Regarding whether the interior light comes on when the door is opened; the answer from the Sharp Advisor who I assume is from Sharp reads the light comes on when the oven is in operation....other responses read, yes, if you merely open the door....the interior light will come on. I want an oven that the interior light comes on when you open door and, when the unit is running. So who is right ...seems to be conflicting responses.

And YES.... the 30 second key can be used while the unit is off, to cook for 30 seconds; OR to add 30 seconds to current cooking time while in operation. And THAT’S the Way it Is.

If you look online where else this is sold, you will see everyone confirms that the light comes on when the door is open and when in operation. If that's not your experience, you either have a different model or a different color, which also means it's a different model, or a defective unit that I'd suggest returning. As for the one touch, yes, you can Add 30 seconds as a starting operation or as an add on to a running time.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO, the light on a Sharp Carousel mid size microwave does not come on while cooking nor when the door is opened....such a poor idea. (It was gift. I didn't want to be rude and take it back) 99% of the people want to SEE the food after it's stopped cooking. You know...like 99% of the microwaves? POOR POOR DESIGN BY SHARP!...It does nothing when you use the 30 second timer unless it's running.
