QuestionTry to buy this one to replace R-551ZS which has a problem of shutting down after heating for 2+ minutes. Then I had to wait for 10+ minutes before it turned on automatically. The old one did not last long. Will this new model have the same problem?

QuestionHello, I need to replace my SHARP Microwave Oven. The Model number is R530EK-T and it is built into my cabinet with a trim package. Would either the SHARP SMC1843CM or SMC1842CS work and what is the difference between the two? Thank you

- Answer Yes, the SMC1842CS or the SMC1843CM are the suggested models. They both have dimensions of 23.2 x 13.3 x 18.9 w x h x d but are different in color. The SMC1842CS is stainless while the SMC1843CM is black and stainless. They also have their own trim kit which you may purchase separately.

- Answer Best I can tell is it's plastic. Again, best I can tell the bulb is incandescent (no problem since the last Sharp MW I had had an incandescent that lasted until the something else died at 17 years).

- Answer Hello, this unit is 1.8 cubic feet and has a 15" turntable. Please be advised that the the trim kits are built differently to fit each microwave as they may have a slight difference in dimensions. The model trim kit that is recommended for this model is RK49S27.

QuestionIs the touch screen area made of hard glass like a smart phone, or is it a softer overlay that slighting deflects when touched.

- Answer The Sharp tech erroneously answered that it is hard glass. This unit is very old school design. The touch screen deflects and will have long term indentations where you touch. Also the unit is wrapped in a very difficult to remove film that took over a half hour to painstakingly remove. The unit wound up being damaged and returned. The LG is much more contemporary.
