NO, you DON’T have to have WiFi ! It works off cellular (phone towers) also. I’ve had my system for about four years at my cabin, and I DON’T have WiFi ! You just can’t complete system updates without WiFi, but they are not necessary.

This product is a 4-pack of Entry Sensors, which are accessories for the complete system and do need to be connected to a SimpliSafe Base Station. But if you don't have WiFi at home, the system can still connect together and work as an offline system. And if you want to set up Monitoring, it can use its own built-in cell connection.

The whole system depends on WiFi.
