  • QuestionHow hard is it to learn how to sew on a sergers. I’m just a straight stitch sewing on my reg singer.

    Asked by Moosekey.

    • Answer The ProFinish model 14CG754 serger saves you time because it sews a seam and seam finish at the same time, while trimming away the excess seam allowance. Learning to sew with a serger, like anything new, will have a learning curve. There are some very good instructional videos on youtube at the following web address: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Singer+model+14CG754+serger. We suggest that you watch some of the videos to help you decide if you will want to move up to using a serger.

  • QuestionIs this capable of sewing through thicker material like denim?

    Asked by Bimose.

    • Answer The Singer Commercial Grade model 14CG754 serger is capable of sewing with denim. However, the Singer model X5004HD Heavy Duty Serger is a home machine and is not designed for sewing multiple layers of thick or heavy weight fabrics. We do not recommend using a serger if you plan to sew with multiple layers of jean weight denim on a regular basis.
