- Answer Technically sound will be same if not mistaken you just won’t get the Dolby atmos enabled speakers soundbar comes with as optical cannot decode them.

- Answer Sonos doesn't play nice with other brands. There's no realistic way to use Sony speakers with this bar. Unfortunately. Same with a sub, have to get Sonos if you want a sub. One of the few downsides to these bars.

QuestionI have the ARC hooked up to Wi-Fi and it seems to recognize the Sub but not sure any sound is coming out of the Sub. I do not have the ability to hook up the Sub to Wi-Fi, will it work without being hooked up to Wi-Fi? Thank you!

- Answer The Sonos sub needs wifi to work. That's how the arc and sub talk, and how it syncs audio.

- Answer I previously answered that you can not connect a non Sonos surround speaker to the Sonos arc. Technically that is incorrect. You can , but it will not allow you to setup your sound field with TruePlay. So , you are not getting the full ambient experience with non-Sonos speakers, but you can technically do it.
