- Answer No. It plays wirelessly through wifi. So you can still play music as you would a normal portable speaker but make sure the device you're running the Sonos app through is connected to the same wifi as the soundbar.

- Answer An HDMI cord needs to be connected to the Arc or eArc input on your TV, and then also connected to the back of the Sonos Beam.

- Answer No. If your Sonos speaker is connected to power and to the TV through the provided HDMI cable, it will be on and ready at all times regardless of whether the TV is on or off. Do when you start content on your TV, the Sonos will automatically play for you.

- Answer Yes to the first question. No to the 2nd. I have the Beam Gen 2, x2 era 100s, and a sub mini and they work excellent together. You can either have the era 100s deliver identical sound just from their position in the room or act as surrounds for the beam and both options sound great. No delay.

QuestionCan this sound bar be placed inside a media console? We purchased a TV stand with an upper shelf and mesh screen to conceal a soundbar speaker (see photo). Would placing it inside the console, under the TV, negatively impact the speaker's sound quality?

- Answer Do NOT enclose this soundbar!!! It fires from drivers to either side AND straight up for Atmos height sounds. Putting it on a shelf will effectively kill the sound. It will also be nearly impossible to run TruePlay correctly.

- Answer Product doesnt have a remote controller, you can use app, touch button on the product or tv's volume control (while it's connected with hdmi arc/earc or Bluetooth) It also works with some of the tv's ir remotes (most of the newest products e.g. Samsung one remote) For setting up better, app should be used (when you plug in to hdmi it automatically plays what's on TV). For trueplay iPhone is must for beam2

- Answer It does pair well with Sony. You don't HAVE to buy the sub but I strongly recommend it. The sub not only adds impact, immersion, and bass to your overall sound, but it also will improve your Beam's performance. As a standalone, the Beam has to deliver the complete sound spectrum from Highs, Mids, and Bass. A) any soundbar is going to have weaker bass because those sounds require a speaker of reasonable size to push the air out B) with a sub connected, the Beam no longer has to make the bass sounds and will focus all it's processing power on delivering you Highs and Mids improving those areas and giving better clarity to dialogue and vocals.

- Answer Room acoustics aside, sounds like you want to know the signal range of the WiFi for audio synchronicity on any model. It should be similar to the distance from your Modem where your tablet or phone works. Their Newest pieces may use WiFi repeaters, with timing between them matched, as a function of their $$ multi-zone hub. In a spacious home you can get a lot of acoustic depth and cadence up to about 45'. Vocals suffer with additional delay.
