“Is the 16mm good for indoor action shots and video, specifically ice hockey?”

I would say it depends where you are shooting from. Personally, I would go with a bit of a larger mm and maybe a zoom option.

Lighting wise it is fine although for video it may not be the best unless audio will be from another source . It’s auto focus is slightly noisy for video purposes.

It will be very wide, but it’s able to shoot pretty fast with the f2.8. Hockey arenas tend to have pretty good lighting, so you should be good to go!
