I have been trying to find that same answer. I finally called Sony support, the lady said that this tv just came out on Nov 27 and that it is 1080p. They no longer make tv's that are 720p and that the other sites are incorrect. Stinks that it is already out of stock!! Hope this helps.

Walmart has the same model # but says its 720p but then I noticed there's said 60hz while this one says 120hz. When I googled it as 1080p nothing came up except bestbuy. When I googled the model # with 720p other places were selling it. I thought maybe bestbuy uploaded the wrong facts for this TV. They must have discontinued the 720p, kept the same model#, but are now making the same TV as 1080p.
