Yes, be veeeery careful if you are interested in buying this TV. Terrific picture if you are sitting either directly in front of it or about two feet or so to the right or left of center. After that the colors are washed out and the picture is "foggy". I was quite disappointed, since Sony says that the picture is good for 178 degrees, which is a lie. Apparently what they mean to say is that the picture doesn't turn completely black from that angle, but that claim is deceptive since the loss of picture quality is dramatic. I returned the unit.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Sunny! In order to avoid any distortion it is recommended having a viewing angle of 178 (89/89) degrees based on the specifications. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes...faded view at an angle. But, I have another Sony that does not do that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have this set mounted to the wall and it let's me tilt it away from the wall at an angle if I need to. That said, when I watch this set from my desk where I'm fairly close to it and seated to the left, I don't notice any color fading (set not angled from the wall). If anything, watching this set from a closer distance will show details (like how much makeup the actors are wearing). Of course if I move to the recliner across the room (about 9 or 10 feet away), the picture is just awsome. This is the third one of these I have bought (the other two in other rooms are larger). I specifically chose the Sony because it provided the best picture (by far) from any angle view than anything else I looked at.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Same experience with faded colors at that viewing angle.
