“how is the sound quality on this TV? Do I have to add speakers or sound bar?”

Sound is great no extra speakers needed we bought one for my 78 year old farther and he can hear it fine

I feel the sound is of quality. I don't have a sound bar installed. If you are looking for theater sound go with a sound bar/speakers.

The sound quality on the SONY 43' ULTRA HD SMART TV is GREAT as is the picture and everything else. When I purchase this TV I had a BOSE Sound Bar already in my office where the 43' Sony was placed. After setting this unit up and listening to the sound I put my BOSE Sound Bar in my Family room with another TV. The 43" SONY Sound is pretty amazing alone with zero help!!

Hello SmartTVnovice, thank you for your message. Speaker configuration 2ch, Full Range (25 x 90 mm) x 2. Speaker output 10 W + 10 W. Adding a sound bar would depends of your preferences. Oscar.

The sound is good for a bed room, larger room...sound system.
