I recently bought the same tv and have not had this issue. The TV is one of the loudest and clearest I've had. I would reset the television in settings and if it still happens exchange it. It's the best you can get at 43" in my opinion so it's worth the exchange.

Tech said it's b/c the speakers on these TVs (not just Sony but slim flat screens in general) are too small and have limited range. Also said it might be a defective 'board' (i.e motherboard). I am returning this set and exchanging for the same model. I hope it works better b/c I like the picture quality. But the tinny, high-pitched emphatic sibilant 'hiss' is maddening. If the replacement isn't any better, I'll return it and give up on Sony TVs :-(

Sound experience can change depending on your room environment. Let's isolate this issue by configuring various settings related to the TV’s sound such as sound quality and sound mode. The actual display may vary or some settings may not be available depending on your model/country/region, TV settings, and the connected device. Please press the (Quick Settings) button on the remote control, then select [Settings] — [Display & Sound] — the desired option. I hope this helps! Jay
