Is the screen made of glass? (as thin as it is ?) null

It is a heavy metal-oxide glass, Corning calls it Gorilla glass. It is by far the best material for premium sets, and typically it is .100" thick on TV screens.

I believe the 1/8th inch thin screen is made of glass? It appears to also have a backing that is either metal or plastic? The picture quality on this SONY OLED TV is even more amazing than the thin screen!!! Just be sure to secure this TV so it can’t ever get tipped over on to its screen and you’ll be a happy camper!
