QuestionCan you replay from a particular point within a track?If I'm trying to learn a specific passage/phrase within a track, can I easily return to that passage/phrase using a control on the front of the CD player and then replay the portion I'm trying to learn?

- Answer The Sony CDPCE500 CD Player has an Analog Audio output jack (Red and White) and a Digital Optical Audio output jack. You can connect it to any Amplifier or Receiver which has Analog Audio Input or Digital Optical Audio input jacks. The Sony SRS-A21 or the Sony SRS-A57 Speakers have a stereo mini jack. A stereo to RCA Adapter cable will be required to connect either of them to the Analog Audio output jack of the Sony CD Player.

- Answer The CDPCE500 Has a 5 CD Carousel Tray. You can play from any of the 5 CDs in the tray creating the playlist of your choice and save it to a USB flash Drive! The recorder does not Burn CDs. You can then take your USB flash drive and create a CD in your Computer.

QuestionHow do I make usb thumb drive work on Sony CDP-C500I bought a Sony CDP-C500 player from Best Buy amount a month ago. I've copied some MP3 songs onto the thumb drive and then attempted to play them off the CD player. I only get a response of not supported. The thumb drive is a typical SanDisk 1Gb. What might be wrong?

This player supports only USB flash memory devices that meet the following requirements: – The device is a Sony Mass Storage Class Device complying with Universal Serial Bus Specification Revision 1.1 or later. – The file system is FAT16/32. Note: Files with DRM (Digital Rights Management) copyright protection cannot be played back on this player

- Answer The number of songs will vary on format type and file size. Depend on what type of music you are going to transfer to a USB storage device. If you have music files on CD, using a computer would be the fastest way to transfer them.

- Answer No. The Sony CDP-CE500 CD Changer does not feature a power on/timer playback function to meet your needs. Sorry. A component stereo CD player is not the correct product category for this application. However, don’t despair. You can still purchase a Sharp CD-DH950P |SKU:2024341 shelf system from Best Buy that will meet yours needs. The Sharp stereo shelf system features multiple timer playback alarm clock/one time/daily timer/one time-daily time combination CD playback modes. In addition, you will be able to program the Sharp stereo system to power on at a specified time from power stand-by mode, and begin playback of your favorite CD’s, radio station(s), iPod, or cassette tapes. - Answer Hello Bob. Welcome to the Best Buy Community. Thank you for your question. Absolutely. The Sony CDP-CE500 CD Changer offers an analog audio line output jack and a digital optical audio output to connect to a separate amplifier. The Sony CD player operating instructions indicate on page 9 that If you have a digital amplifier, you can connect the digital optical audio output on the rear panel of the Sony CD player to an available digital optical input on the amplifier. You will need a digital optical audio cable to make this connection. You will need a Dynex DX-AD128 |SKU:9699131 digital optical audio cable to make this connection. If your amplifier does not offer a digital optical input, then you can use the supplied audio patch cable that is included with the Sony CD player with rca style connectors on both ends to connect the line output jack of the CD player to an available analog rca line input jack on your amplifier. Do not connect the Sony CD player to a dedicated PHONO input. Good Luck.
