It will work but with a caveat. This is not a full frame lens so you get cropping of the image. Meaning it crops all the way around the image and still gives you the central part of the image. You'll have a 1.5x crop factor so the lens will act like a 75mm and bring you closer to the subject. Your camera should default to auto so it automatically crops the image on only uses a smaller portion of the sensor on the camera. The effect is you get a zoomed in image.You can change the menu setting in the A7ii to from auto to full frame to APS-C. You can see the difference in your viewfinder. Just do it with a full frame lens. Leave it on auto when you're done investigating.
