- Answer It will work but with a caveat. This is not a full frame lens so you get cropping of the image. Meaning it crops all the way around the image and still gives you the central part of the image. You'll have a 1.5x crop factor so the lens will act like a 75mm and bring you closer to the subject. Your camera should default to auto so it automatically crops the image on only uses a smaller portion of the sensor on the camera. The effect is you get a zoomed in image.You can change the menu setting in the A7ii to from auto to full frame to APS-C. You can see the difference in your viewfinder. Just do it with a full frame lens. Leave it on auto when you're done investigating.

- Answer It does work with the a5100 and it comes with a lens hood to prevent glare from the sun and a front and rear cap.

- Answer Hi, the Sel50f18 is a portrait lens. It is a sharp lens that is great for capturing reaction and portrait shots. This lens can blur the background easily. Best regards, Zander

- Answer Hi B, the lens will only work on Sony ILCE camera models like the A7x series or A6xxx series. Sony Cyber-shot are compact point and shoot camera and their lenses are not interchangeable.

QuestionI am debating getting the kit 16-55mm retractable lens or this prime lens. Is this lens retractable or is it only able to shoot at 50mm? I would prefer the lens to be able to zoom in for landscape pictures as I am doing a Pacific Northwest trip soon.

- Answer I would see why not is has oss, the only thing is it will be a 75mm on a crop sensor so not as wide but if you check out youtube people post videos with this lens an they look pretty great.
